The Midpoint Bridge will be undergoing maintenance and minor repairs starting in August. Lee commissioners on Tuesday approved a contract with Villa-Fuerte Construction LLC for $301,430 to perform work that includes fixing cracks and spalling, repairing mechanically stabilized earth walls, repairing bridge joints and replacing soil at the base of the bridge, county staff said. The work is expected to be complete by November, weather permitting. Intermittent lane closures will occur during the work. When that happens, eastbound lanes will remain open from 6 a.m. to 10 a.m. daily, and all westbound lanes will be open 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. daily.
