The Community Recovery Center at Lakes Regional Library, 15290 Bass Road in south Fort Myers, will permanently close at 6 p.m. Monday, May 15. The State of Florida and the Federal Emergency Management Agency transitioned leadership of remaining Hurricane Ian Disaster Recovery Centers to county or local jurisdictions last month. Calling them Community Recovery Centers, the centers supported localized, community-based approaches to disaster recovery. The Community Recovery Center at Tringali Recreation Center, 3450 N. Access Road in Englewood, will close Saturday. Moving forward, survivors can continue to contact local organizations to find help with resources and services to assist with unmet needs. Survivors with questions about FEMA assistance can visit the agency’s website or call the FEMA helpline at 800-621-3362, which is open from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. daily.
