Manhattan Construction Co. completed a 36,873-square-foot expansion of the Lee County Public Safety Center on Ortiz Avenue. The two-story wing adds several mission-critical facilities, including a new 911 Emergency Communications Center, centralized Public Safety and EMS offices, a law enforcement communications unit and a Traffic Operations Center for real-time roadway monitoring. Designed by BSSW Architects – A GHC Studio, the project also includes coordination and training rooms, a multiscreen video wall for situational awareness and secure sleeping quarters with restrooms, showers and break areas to support 24/7 emergency response.
