Walmart Supercenter in Englewood reopened last week following major renovations, including a refreshed interior and expanded departments. The 2931 S. McCall Road location was one of 117 Walmarts across 30 states reopening following an investment of more than $500 million by the company. New signage, fixtures, LED lighting and flooring throughout the entire store were installed for better line of sight and easier navigation. The store also features a refreshed and expanded bakery and deli areas and dairy and beer coolers. The location’s new mural, titled Fort Wayne, is designed and illustrated by artist Heather McCullough. It celebrates the history of Englewood as a beach vacation destination, as well as a boating and fishing community. Upgrades at the Englewood Supercenter include activated corners, which are displays featured at the corners of certain departments to pull customers in and help them touch, feel and become a part of the space. Elevated departments transform stores’ feature displays showcasing products out of their boxes so customers can imagine them fitting into their daily lives.
