Lumos, a leading fiber optic internet and total home Wi-Fi service provider, plans to expand to homes and small businesses in Charlotte and Lee counties as part of an investment of nearly 7,500 miles of fiber optic internet in Florida. This expansion marks the High Point, North Carolina-based company’s eighth state of operation and will bring ultra-high-speed internet to more than 30 communities statewide, passing nearly 500,000 homes and small businesses. Company officials said engineering work is underway, and construction will begin soon. Once construction begins, residents will receive a mail notification.
