There was a decrease of more than 32,000 registered voters in Lee County from 2021 to 2024. Lee County’s Supervisor of Elections Tommy Doyle didn’t point to Hurricane Ian or a population decline for the decrease but voters going inactive. There were 506,539 registered active voters on Dec. 31, 2021, and 474,132 on July 22. Lee County Republicans increased by 7,574 registered voters to 225,495 from 2021 to 2024, while Lee County Democrats dropped 23,878 register voters to 107,525 during the same period, WINK News reports.
