For the fourth straight year, Physicians Regional Healthcare System is supporting The Immokalee Foundation’s Healthcare Pathway through funding and internships. This year, the hospital system covered the cost of the Foundation’s Healthcare Summer Camp at Florida Gulf Coast University for 36 students and hosted 13 interns at its Pine Ridge and Collier Boulevard locations. Students, aged 13-17, explored health care careers through hands-on learning, job shadowing and field trips. In total, 54 students have benefited from the partnership since it began, helping prepare youth from Immokalee for meaningful careers in health care through the Foundation’s Career Pathways Program.
