Charlotte County Sheriff Bill Prummell was sworn in July 23 as president of the Florida Sheriffs Association during its summer conference. FSA was founded in 1893 as an organization to support the needs of the state’s law enforcement community. The not-for-profit organization enhances the unified efforts of the sheriffs from all 67 counties in the state, allowing them to collaborate and discuss critical law enforcement-related issues with lawmakers. The organization also coordinates trainings, designates special task forces and pushes for changes within the criminal justice system. Prummell, the organization‘s 102nd president, will serve for the 2024-25 program year, succeeding Nassau County Sheriff Bill Leeper.
