The Boston Red Sox announced a partnership with Family Initiative Inc. by adding the nonprofit’s Mobile Sensory Trailer that will be at the team’s home spring training games at JetBlue Park in Fort Myers. The Sensory Trailer is equipped to provide children diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder with a calming environment during varying situations. Children will find sensory toys, bean bag cushions, games, air conditioning and Wi-Fi inside the trailer. Certified clinicians, specially trained to support families with special needs, staff the trailer. The trailer will be located on the third base concourse, which backs up to the white fence. Family Initiative will also have a table set up at each game to help spread awareness and support fans who might need additional resources.
