Sanibel residents are grappling with the aftermath of Hurricane Ian, along with flooding and rising property taxes, leading some to sell their homes and leave the island for good. Bill Robinson, CEO of the Sanibel & Captiva Association of Realtors, highlighted the current real estate climate on the island. He mentioned an increase in listings on the island due to various factors, including residents’ fatigue from making hurricane repairs and the desire to move closer to family. City officials are addressing residents’ concerns with efforts to expedite recovery.
