The Lee Civic Center Complex will host a rebranded county fair called the Southwest Florida Ag Expo from Feb. 29 through March 10. The event at 11831 Bayshore Road celebrates the work and accomplishments of Southwest Florida youth active in 4-H, FFA and more while offering food and rides for the community. The county-run Ag Expo will open with a traditional ribbon-cutting at 4 p.m. Feb. 29. The livestock events begin later that evening with the goat agility contest and don’t stop until the conclusion of the horse awards March 10. In October, the Southwest Florida and Lee County Fair Association Inc. canceled its 100th anniversary fair celebration and its related contracts.
