SunSplash Family Waterpark has opened its first-ever wave pool, the $4 million Paradise Cove, at 500 W. Lake Kennedy Drive in Cape Coral. Spanning 12,000 square feet and holding 160,000 gallons of water, the pool features seven adjustable wave patterns, zero-depth beach entry, and a max depth of 4 feet, 6 inches. Each wave cycle lasts 15 minutes with a 7-minute break. Paradise Cove fits 200 swimmers and is surrounded by more than 300 lounge chairs and eight cabanas. Operated by ProParks Attractions Group, the attraction was privately funded with no tax dollars. Future plans include dive-in movies with a 16-foot screen and high-intensity wave events.
