The Southwest Florida housing market has shifted from a scene of bidding wars to a landscape where sellers are feeling the pressure. Homes are sitting longer, prices are dropping and some are questioning if the boom times are over. Stephen Petty, a Realtor with VIP Realty, said he is used to selling homes in the first 90 days, but some stay on the market six months or longer. Petty highlighted several factors contributing to the decline, including higher interest rates and higher insurance costs. In addition, a lot of the condos have had to increase their reserves with higher maintenance fees, WINK News reports.
