Shake Shack fanatics in Southwest Florida have been anticipating the opening of the burger chain’s first regional location, which launches Feb. 20 at Mercato, months later than originally planned. The popular brand's first Shack in the Naples area and its 29th location in Florida opens at 10:30 a.m. at 9105 Strada Place, Suite 3145, in North Naples.
To celebrate opening day, the first wave of guests will receive custom Shake Shack miniature tote bags and Naples-specific stickers. As part of the company's mission and motto to “Stand for Something Good,” Shake Shack also will donate $1 for every sandwich sold Feb. 20 to the Harry Chapin Food Bank to support the organization’s work to provide food assistance to a quarter of a million people each month in Southwest Florida.
Shake Shack offers handspun milkshakes and frozen custard as part of its menu of American fast-food classics at its new Mercato location in North Naples.
In addition to the handspun milkshakes from which the counter-service concept’s name is derived, Shake Shack's made-to-order menu of elevated versions of American fast-food classics includes the ShackBurger, a single or double quarter-pound cheeseburger made with Angus beef; chicken sandwiches, flat-top hot dogs, crinkle-cut fries and frozen custard. The restaurant also offers limited-time items throughout the year, such as the recently launched Korean-style menu that includes the K-Shack BBQ Burger.
Shake Shack built out a 3,000-square-foot retail space that previously was part of the Hand & Harvest Artisan Market and Charming Charlie women’s fashion store at Mercato, the mixed-use development near the northeast corner of U.S. 41 North and Vanderbilt Beach Road. A second Shake Shack in Collier County is already under construction and targeted to open later this year in the Pollo Tropical drive-thru space that closed more than two years ago in Restaurant Row Naples at 6833 Collier Blvd.
Shake Shack’s menu features burgers, chicken sandwiches and crinkle-cut fries. The chain opens its first Naples-area location Feb. 20 at Mercato.
Since 2010, when Shake Shack opened its first restaurant outside of New York City in Miami Beach's South Beach, the fast-growing chain has opened nearly 30 restaurants in Florida, including locations in Sarasota and Tampa on the Gulf Coast. The majority of its Florida locations are in the Fort Lauderdale, Miami and Orlando areas. With more than 420 locations nationwide, Shake Shack has a long-term goal to expand to 1,500 company-operated locations.
Shake Shack’s hours will be 10:30 a.m. to 11 p.m. daily.
