Helimix products

Helimix’s patented shaker bottle design, shown in multiple colors, has been acquired by Yeti in a $38 million deal. The Punta Gorda company will close Nov. 27 as Yeti prepares to relaunch an updated version in 2026.

The Punta Gorda company behind a distinctive, ball-free shaker bottle sold its design and intellectual property to Yeti in a $38 million cash deal, giving the Austin, Texas-based outdoor products manufacturer a new foothold in the growing sports and wellness market.

The acquisition of Helimix was announced Nov. 6 by Yeti President and CEO Matthew Reintjes during the company’s third-quarter earnings call. Reintjes told investors the firm plans to relaunch an updated version of the shaker bottle in 2026.

Helimix was founded by Jordan Holmes, who established operations at 660 Charlotte St. in Punta Gorda. Holmes said the product was manufactured in St. Petersburg. The company’s patented hexagonal shaker bottle, first brought to market in 2019, was designed without a traditional mixing ball. Instead, its angled interior creates a vortex intended to blend protein shakes and powdered nutrition supplements more effectively.

Some of the bottles featured athletes and fitness personalities as part of Helimix’s early marketing strategy. The company gained a sizable following online, driven in part by its more than 39,000 five-star Amazon reviews cited by Yeti during the earnings call.

Helimix announced on its website that it will close Nov. 27, which will be the final day to purchase its products. The bottles have been sold through the company’s website, Amazon and major retailers including Walmart.

Helimix acquisition

Helimix showcased its color lineup of ball-free shaker bottles in a message to customers announcing the company will close Nov. 27 after being acquired by Yeti.

In a message to customers, Helimix wrote: “We’re excited to share that Helimix has been acquired by Yeti. To thank you for the support that got us here, everything on our site is now 40% off with code ITSBEENREAL until Nov. 27, when Helimix closes its doors.” The message also said, “You helped us become the most innovative shaker on the planet. In the coming years, together with Yeti, we will take that legacy even further.”

Holmes said he will be working with Yeti as it launches its new shaker bottle, which will be based on the Helimix design.

Sarasota firm Rework Capital led, advised and supported Helimix through its transaction, alongside the company’s investment banker. Before the transaction, Rework Capital, through its fractional services, also helped Helimix scale. The firm began advising Helimix in 2023.

Reintjes said Yeti’s redesigned shaker will incorporate a patented mixing system that eliminates the wire ball common to most shakers while aiming to improve performance. He also said the new bottle will be manufactured in the United States.

“We are targeting a roughly $2.5 billion market fueled by the rapidly growing demand for hydration powders, protein supplements and wellness products aligning with Yeti’s expansion,” Reintjes said.

Yeti reported third-quarter 2025 sales of $487.8 million, a 2% increase from the prior year. The company credited growth in its Coolers & Equipment category, up 12%, along with a 14% rise in international sales. Yeti posted $1.83 billion in revenue in 2024 and said the Helimix acquisition supports its goal of expanding deeper into sport, health and wellness.
