Harry Chapin Food Bank released its 2025 Impact Report, detailing significant progress in the nonprofit’s ongoing mission to end hunger across Southwest Florida while highlighting the growing demand for food assistance in the region.

In 2025, the Food Bank distributed 38.7 million pounds of food, including 12 million pounds of fresh fruits and vegetables — a 14.3% increase in fresh produce over the prior year. Overall, the organization served nearly 300,000 neighbors each month across Lee, Collier, Charlotte, Hendry and Glades counties through a network of partner agencies, mobile pantries, mobile markets and targeted feeding programs.

By county, the Food Bank distributed 19 million pounds of food in Lee County, 11.5 million pounds in Collier County, 5.2 million pounds in Charlotte County, 2.2 million pounds in Hendry County and more than 705,000 pounds in Glades County. When adjusted for population, Hendry and Glades counties received the highest pounds per person, underscoring the Food Bank’s focus on reaching rural and underserved communities.

Beyond food distribution, the Impact Report highlights expanded education and outreach efforts. In 2025, Harry Chapin Food Bank provided 556 health and nutrition classes, serving 1,687 seniors, 1,200 adults and 417 children. Programs such as Harry’s Helpings, in-school pantries, the Care and Share Senior Feeding Program and the Commodity Supplemental Food Program continued to address food insecurity among vulnerable populations.

Volunteer support also played a critical role. More than 4,300 volunteers donated a combined 49,000 hours of service during the year, equating to an estimated $1.5 million in in-kind support.
