Babcock Ranch will add a second Publix as the anchor of the planned MidTown Marketplace, introducing a 55,000-square-foot store built around one of Publix’s newest formats. The store will include expanded prepared foods, a larger specialty department, a beverage bar and an adjacent Publix Liquors.

Specialty features will include enhanced prepared foods, such as fresh pizza, ramen, sushi and acai bowls, a full-service seafood department, a scratch bakery with artisan breads and custom cakes and an expanded deli and artisan cheese selection. The store also will feature a larger wine, beer and specialty department, a Pours beverage bar offering smoothies, coffee, wine and beer, cafe-style seating, a dedicated pharmacy and a health-and-wellness section.

“Publix has been an incredible partner in the growth of Babcock Ranch,” said Syd Kitson, chair and CEO of Kitson & Partners, the developer of Babcock Ranch. “As our town continues to expand, this new Publix store represents the next chapter in meeting the needs of our residents and the greater community. It is another example of how Babcock Ranch is evolving thoughtfully, bringing more choices, more convenience and more quality retail to our town. Adding a second Publix location is an important milestone in the growth and expansion of Babcock Ranch.”

Construction on MidTown Marketplace and the new Publix will begin in early 2026, with opening dates to be announced, a Kitson & Partners spokesperson said. Upon completion, MidTown Marketplace will expand the community’s retail and dining offerings with amenities that reflect Babcock Ranch’s continued momentum.

The new Publix is part of the broader MidTown expansion, the next phase of the community’s long-term vision to support its sustainable lifestyle with additional neighborhoods, parks, dining and retail. Situated off Cypress Parkway, the district is planned to blend residential and commercial spaces that integrate with existing neighborhoods, offering places to live, work and gather within walking or biking distance.

MidTown Marketplace will encompass about 140,000 square feet of retail and dining space and will serve as the commercial centerpiece of this next chapter in Babcock Ranch’s growth, Kitson said.

This will be the town’s second Publix. The first opened in 2021 at Crescent B Commons, a shopping center that has become a central hub for everyday services.

Created by Kitson & Partners with an emphasis on smart growth and sustainability, Babcock Ranch sets aside about half its footprint as greenways, parks and lakes. The town is planned for 20,000 residences and about 6 million square feet of commercial space. Homes are built to Florida Green Building Coalition standards and include energy- and water-conservation features, along with full gigabit fiber-optic connectivity. Prices range from the upper $200,000s to $4 million.
