Saks Global is closing some of its less-profitable Saks Fifth Avenue flagship stores this spring, but the longtime location in Naples will remain open as an anchor at Waterside Shops.
The New York City-based luxury retailer announced this week that it will close eight Saks Fifth Avenue stores and one Neiman Marcus location as part of its bankruptcy reorganization after filing for Chapter 11 protection in January.
The announcement comes after the company announced earlier this month that it was closing most of its Saks Off Fifth discount stores, including the store in Naples’ Park Shore Plaza.
In April, the company is closing Saks Fifth Avenue locations at The Summit in Birmingham, Alabama; Polaris Fashion Place in Columbus, Ohio; American Dream in East Rutherford, New Jersey; Shops at Canal Place in New Orleans; Bala Plaza in Philadelphia; Biltmore Fashion Park in Phoenix; Stony Point Fashion Park in Richmond, Virginia; and Utica Square in Tulsa, Oklahoma. The Neiman Marcus store in Boston’s Copley Place also is closing.
