The Southwest Florida housing market demand continued to outpace inventory in December. Pending home sales in the Naples area leaped 88.6% to 1,535 pending homes under contract from 814 pending sales in December 2019, according to the December 2020 market report released by the
Naples Area Board of Realtors. Inventory continued to struggle to keep up with growing buyer demand, NABOR reports, with the number of available homes for sale in December 2020 decreased nearly 50% to 3,140 homes from 6,163 homes in December 2019. Overall sales in December increased 45.4% to 1,396 closed sales from 960 closed sales during the previous December. “There are no signs of a decline in our market,” NABOR reported Friday in a news release.

Creighton Construction & Development has completed the construction of a 7-Eleven convenience store with fuel at
930 S. Bridge St. in LaBelle. Creighton completed the ground-up construction of the 3,500-square-foot convenience store with 12 fueling positions under a covered canopy structure and two high-speed diesel positions that allow commercial drivers to refuel in less time. Creighton’s team for this project was led by development manager Lauren Evans and project manager Dane Edwards. Local partners on the project included Guardian Fueling Technologies as fuel contractor, GMA Architects & Planners as the architect and H.L. Bennett & Associates as the civil engineer.
STEVENS CONSTRUCTION COMPLETES FINEMARK HEADQUARTERS
Stevens Construction has completed the corporate headquarters of FineMark National Bank & Trust. Located at
8695 College Pkwy. in Fort Myers, FineMark is a three-story, 60,000-square-foot, tilt-wall building with exquisite interiors such as custom millwork, tray ceilings, white oak trim, custom lighting and glass mosaic tile. Situated on six acres, FineMark features a 30-foot lobby adorned with white oak and tile ascending to the ceiling, pendant chandeliers, artwork and porcelain tile. NAPLES CLASSICAL ACADEMY CLOSES ON FOGG NURSERY PROPERTY FOR NEW CHARTER SCHOOL
Naples Classical Academy, a new tuition-free charter school, has closed on the 17-acre property at
10270 Immokalee Road that will be home to its campus when the new academic year begins this fall. Groundbreaking will be on Jan. 29, when the school’s construction will begin on land formerly owned by Fogg Nursery & Mulch Supply. For the next month or so, Fogg will continue to operate on part of the property along Immokalee Road as work begins on building the school behind it. The retail/wholesale landscaping operation will relocate soon once the transaction is finalized at a new location nearby in Golden Gate Estates, said Stanley Fogg, who operates Fogg Nursery, a family-owned local business for more than 20 years. Meanwhile, Feb. 1 is the application deadline to attend school there this fall and the next lottery will be Feb. 2 for students in kindergarten through 10th grade. More than 600 students have already confirmed spots and enrolled for the 2021-22 school year and the classical curriculum charter school is expected to open this fall with 800 students.

NAPLES SENIOR CENTER CLOSES ON SITE FOR NEW PERMANENT HOME
Naples Senior Center, a nonprofit organization that provides comprehensive programs and social services for seniors, has purchased 13.7 acres for its new permanent home on Autumn Oaks Lane, just one block south of Immokalee Road. The transaction, which closed on Jan. 22,was priced at $2.75 million. The new Naples Senior Center will be centrally located to the largest concentration of members and will be easily accessible from other locations in Collier County, the human services agency states. The site also will enable seniors to benefit from a nurturing, natural setting that offers outdoor space for walking, quiet contemplation and low-impact exercise programs such as tai chi. The 30,000-square-foot facility will be funded through a capital campaign that was launched in 2019 and has been accelerated by a $5-million commitment from local philanthropists Patty and Jay Baker.

BCB Homes Chief Financial Officer Shazia Azami has been appointed a partner of the custom-home-building firm. One of six Naples-based leaders, she will collaborate with the company’s chief executive officer, president, chief operating officer, vice president and vice president of field operations on all building, remodeling and estate management projects as well as building science technology. Azami spent the last six-and-half-plus years overseeing BCB’s accounting and financial operations as well as developing its growth strategies and driving operational efficiencies. Stock Custom Homes, the custom home building division of Stock Development, reported a total of $80 million in sales for 2020. The company was also named Builder of the Year by the Collier Building Industry Association. Stock Custom Homes is continuing its sales streak into 2021. The most recently sold residence is located in Pine Ridge Estates and was listed at $3.445 million. Stock has another property opening in early February in Pine Ridge Estates at 607 Myrtle Road. The home is fully furnished and priced at $4.245 million. Stock has also been actively expanding on Florida’s east coast with multiple luxury residences in the Palm Beach Polo Golf and Country Club.
