BAYFRONT HEALTH EARNS TOP AWARD

The Punta Gorda Chamber of Commerce has named Bayfront Health the “Donna Heidenreich Pinnacle Business of the Year.” The Pinnacle Award is given annually to a local business that has positively impacted the community and is chosen by a panel of judges comprised of previous award winners. Bayfront Health Punta Gorda was Charlotte County’s first hospital. Last year marked 70 years of healthcare service to Punta Gorda and Charlotte County. Over the course of the year, Bayfront Health Punta Gorda served more than 76,600 patients. For past award winners, click here.

SOUTHWEST FLORIDA YACHTS, FLORIDA SAILING & CRUISING SCHOOL MOVE

Southwest Florida Yachts and Florida Sailing & Cruising School have a new office location and address at their Cape Coral location within the Promenade at Tarpon Point Marina. The new office address is 5991 Silver King Blvd., Unit 108, Cape Coral. There are no changes to telephone numbers or web addresses for either company. Co-owners Barb and Vic Hansen will be celebrating the 35th anniversary of Southwest Florida Yachts and Florida Sailing & Cruising School in 2019.  

FGCU TO HOST ‘RESEARCH ROADSHOW’

Florida Gulf Coast University (FGCU) will host “Research Roadshow” at 5:30 p.m. on Nov. 15 at the Southwest Florida Event Center in Bonita Springs. A reception begins at 5 p.m. Three teams of faculty members and students will explain projects and findings in this free multimedia event. The three diverse student-faculty research projects are “The Potential of Nanotechnology in Cancer Research,” “Adopting a ‘Less is More’ Golf Swing,” and “The Persuasive Power of Koreshan Hymns.” FGCU President Michael V. Martin, along with director of undergraduate scholarship Billy Gunnels, serve as hosts for the event. To register for the free event, click here.

FINEMARK PROMOTES TWO

FineMark National Bank & Trust, Collier County, has promoted two associates in the Naples market. Jason Philips has been promoted to senior vice president, loan officer. Philips joined FineMark as a loan officer in 2016. He is responsible for cultivating and developing relationships in Collier County. Philips has more than 15 years of experience in the financial services field and holds a Master of Business Administration from William Woods University and a Bachelor of Science in business administration from the University of Missouri. Patty Luppy has been promoted to vice president, marketing associate. Luppy joined the Naples team in 2014 as a bank officer and marketing associate. Luppy plans and coordinates all in-house and offsite special events in Naples and manages all of the market’s advertising, sponsorships and donations. Luppy has also managed two renovation projects in the Naples office. She holds a liberal arts degree from Buffalo State College.

SCREAMING FANS MARKETING RELOCATES

Screaming Fans Marketing has moved to a new location this month. The firm has assisted small businesses locally and across the country with custom marketing plans—which include social media management, web development, content creation and more—for more than four years. The firm moved to 9128 Strada Place inside of Venture X at Mercato in October. Venture X provides workspaces for various companies both locally and abroad, providing meeting spaces, conference areas, executive suites, virtual offices and more.

GARNER JOINS PRIORITY MARKETING

Priority Marketing has added Megan Garner to its account services team. As an account manager, Garner collaborates with the firm’s creative, public relations and digital teams to develop solutions for an array of businesses, nonprofit organizations and government agency clients. Garner previously was director of marketing for Kitson & Partners, a private real estate development company promoting the town of Babcock Ranch. She also held a variety of positions for more than 12 years at Chico’s FAS Inc., including marketing manager, promotional merchandising manager, assistant merchandising project manager, assistant buyer and assistant merchandise coordinator. Garner earned an associate of arts degree from Florida SouthWestern State College in 2002, a bachelor’s degree in marketing from Florida Gulf Coast University in 2004 and a master’s in business administration from FGCU in 2010.

PUSHING THE ENVELOPE HIRES PRZYWARA

Pushing the Envelope has welcomed Annelise Przywara as communication coordinator. In this role, Przywara will be responsible for executing public relations services for the company’s varied clientele, including publicity and media relations, event management, copywriting, and more. Przywara holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in public relations/strategic communication from Wilkes University and is working toward her master's degree in strategic communication from American University.

SWFL COMMUNITY FOUNDATION HIRES TWO

The Southwest Florida Community Foundation has hired two additional team members. Marina Nassif and Austin Brooks have joined the foundation’s finance team. Nassif will serve as controller and is a certified public accountant. She holds a master’s degree in accounting and taxation from Florida Gulf Coast University. Her prior experience includes positions at a local CPA firm and General Electric. Brooks joins the team as accounting associate. He will be graduating from FGCU in December with a bachelor’s degree in finance. His responsibilities at the foundation include grants and contributions processing.

Creighton Construction & Development raises $41,500 for Wounded Veterans Relief Fund

Creighton Construction & Development’s sixth annual 7-Eleven Redfish Rodeo Fishing Tournament has raised $41,500 to support the Wounded Veterans Relief Fund. An annual fundraising event for clients and project partners of Creighton Construction & Development, the catch-and-release fishing tournament attracted more than 150 anglers and 37 boats to the waterways around Cape Coral, Pine Island and Sanibel. Proceeds from the tournament will benefit the Wounded Veterans Relief Fund, which assists veterans who served post 9/11. For more information about Wounded Veterans Relief Fund, visit www.WVRF.org.
