Nadin Feix opened Let’s Waffle at 1031 Santa Barbara Blvd., Unit 12, in Cape Coral last month. Feix uses the slogan “love at first bite” at her restaurant, where loaded sweet and savory heart-shaped waffles are the stars of the menu.

“Waffles are something we love in Europe, but in a different way than you guys eat it,” Feix said. “It’s more of a lunch or afternoon treat, and here it’s more of a morning breakfast thing.”

Feix and her family moved to Cape Coral from Germany in August 2022, four weeks before Hurricane Ian hit. However, the family has visted Cape Coral since 2014.

Let’s Waffle is one of two businesses the Feix family launched locally, with the FMS Florida Boat Tours and Limousine Service owned and operated by Feix’s husband, Alexander.

Every waffle name contains the word “love,” a testament to the care and thought Feix puts into curating the Let’s Waffle menu.

“The best seller on the sweet waffle side is Julika’s Love,” Feix said. Named after Feix’s daughter, the homemade waffle features fresh strawberries, bananas and Nutella topped with powdered sugar.

Feix said her favorite would be a tie between the Strawberry Love waffle and the Fruit Love waffle. Strawberry Love has vanilla ice cream, fresh strawberries and whipped cream topped with strawberry sauce.

“If you can even talk healthy eating a waffle, eat a Fruit Love,” Feix said. “It comes with Greek yogurt, honey, nuts and five different kinds of fresh fruits.”

For those interested in the savory side of the menu, the Avocado Love and the Italian Love have been the favorites, so far. “We do our own avocado salad with arugula, tomatoes and obviously avocados,” Feix said. “The Italian love has tomato, mozzarella, basil and pesto.”

The German Love waffle is launching within the next week, highlighting traditional German favorites. This waffle will have sauerkraut, bratwurst, potato rounds and mustard sauce.

While guests can choose from the waffle creations already available on the menu, the true concept behind Let’s Waffle is to build your own through the freestyle portion of the menu.

The freestyle waffles have options in sauces, bases, fruits, cheese, meats, ice cream and even candy.

Let’s Waffle also does a breakfast special, where guests get a free cup of coffee between 8 and 10 a.m.

“You can actually have waffles all day,” Feix said. “You can always eat waffles.”

Seating 22, Let’s Waffle is open from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday.
