Development in Charlotte County is moving east, north and south due to burgeoning growth and residential land being purchased by large developers.

Charlotte County’s Board of County Commissioners at its land-use meeting April 22 approved Lennar Homes LLC’s final plat for Tuckers Cove Phase 2 in East County, south of Bermont Road, north of Mesquite Lane, west of the Glades County line and east of State Road 31.

The development consists of 505 residential lots and seven tracts on 116.15 acres. The parcel is within the boundary of the Babcock Ranch Community Development of Regional Impact and is in Commission District 1.

Two developers building along Burnt Store Road received approval for their amended plans.

Atwell engineering and consulting firm, representing Taylor Morrison’s Esplanade at Starling community, got the go-ahead to construct an 11,280-square-foot clubhouse at 14100 Burnt Store Road. The resort-style community’s clubhouse project sits on 6.8 acres and includes a Bahama bar, tennis courts, pickleball courts, bocce ball courts, a mail kiosk, community garden and a large dog park.

The developer will construct the required roadways, utility, drainage and surface water and landscaping and lighting.

Barraco & Associates Inc. received approval to amend its final detail site plan for Turnleaf Phase 1. The plan reconfigures lots within Phase 1 with a total of 444 lots.

A previously approved platted lot was removed, and 24 lots were added along Turnleaf Boulevard.

The project will consist of 412 single-family and 32 multifamily homes on 123.14 acres at 13250 Burnt Store Road.

GreenPoint Holdings broke ground on the 426-acre Turnleaf development in February.

Barraco & Associates Inc. also was approved a modification for the community’s 4,000-square-foot amenity center at 13330 Burnt Store Road.

The project sits on 2.52 acres and includes a recreational building, pool area, pickleball courts, fitness areas and a parking lot. It also has supporting infrastructure, including utilities, drainage and roadways within Turnleaf Phase 1.
