Collier Area Transit (CAT) is offering free rides on all fixed-route buses on Friday, Nov. 5, to promote Try Transit Day in recognition of Mobility Week in Florida, to raise awareness of transit as a safe and sustainable transportation option and to promote the positive effects that transit has on the environment. The use of public transit helps reduce traffic congestion, decrease energy consumption, improve air quality and promote health and physical fitness, CAT reports. This event is organized in collaboration with the Florida Department of Transportation’s Commuter Connector program.
