Anchor Inn & Cottages, 1245 Periwinkle Way, on Sanibel Island will begin accepting reservations Feb. 1 following an extensive restoration of the historic property. The SanCap Chamber marked the reopening with a ribbon cutting Jan. 20. Owners Erica and Rick Markham restored all 12 A-frame cottages, preserving their vintage charm while adding storm-resilient features, including impact windows, elevated equipment and restored terrazzo floors. Built in 1959 as the Villa Capri, the property blends its retro character with modern upgrades and island-inspired design, featuring local artwork and nautical elements.
