Pumpkin patch

Farmer Mike’s Produce and U-Pick owner Michael Clevenger showcases a bumper crop of pumpkins during the farm’s annual fall harvest in Bonita Springs.

Farmer Mike’s Produce and U-Pick in Bonita Springs is celebrating its most successful pumpkin season to date. Despite Florida’s hot and humid climate, owner Michael Clevenger said this year’s conditions were ideal for growing pumpkins — a rare feat for the region. “This is our best pumpkin patch to date. Mother Nature did its job. We did our job. Everything came together,” Clevenger said. Planting later in the season and a break from heavy rains helped make the crop possible. Visitors can explore the colorful patch throughout October and pick their perfect pumpkin. The farm also offers fall-themed activities, fresh produce, and local goods, WINK News reports.
