CĀK'D gluten-free, vegan bakery closes shop in Naples

Oct. 4 was the last day for CĀK'D gluten-free, vegan bakery at Trinity Plaza, 304 Ninth St. N., in Naples. CĀK’D owner Maria Trupiano emailed customers to tell them that it’s not the end of CĀK’D, but just the next chapter. “We are restructuring into a stronger, leaner model,” Trupiano said. “After a short pause, CĀK’D will be back in the community with markets, pop-ups, online ordering and shipping — without heavy overhead weighing us down. That means more flexibility, more reach, and even better pricing for you. I have already contacted a commissary kitchen in North Naples that actually has dedicated gluten-free ovens!” After operating her brick-and-mortar location more than three years in Naples, Trupiano had plans to relocate CĀK’D to a more affordable spot, but anticipated funding fell through, she said.
