Construction is underway on Elevate Southwest Florida, a planned $140 million sports and wellness destination at the former Naples-Fort Myers Greyhound Track on Bonita Beach Road, just east of Old 41 in Bonita Springs. The nearly 20-acre project is expected to be completed by 2030 and will feature indoor and outdoor athletic facilities, wellness amenities and community gathering spaces. Phase one includes beach volleyball, pickleball, basketball and future grass sports. Later phases call for an indoor sports complex, fitness studios, recovery spaces, walking trails, a food park and a dog park. Organizers say the development is designed to provide a central gathering place for residents while promoting recreation, fitness and social connections, WINK News reports.
