Sour & Dough Artisan Bakery opened in September in a small unit next to Kava Culture near the “elbow” of The Pavilion shopping center in North Naples. The bakery offers French-inspired bread loaves, pastries, gourmet sandwiches and specialty coffee drinks.
The new local business has the same ownership as the Sour & Dough Artisan Bakery that launched in May 2024 in University Village near Florida Gulf Coast University. “It’s a family business and we try to keep it family oriented,” said co-owner Marcel Itzcovich.
Sour & Dough Artisan Bakery’s menu includes gourmet sandwiches made with its breads and ingredients including turkey, prosciutto, brie, arugula and house-made pesto.
Sandwich selections feature focaccia with turkey, arugula, sweet cherry tomatoes, brie and house-made pesto; Prosciutto di Parma on a brioche bun with brie, cherry tomatoes, arugula and a splash of extra virgin olive oil and balsamic vinegar; and sourdough bread with natural ham, Swiss cheese, arugula, caramelized fresh pear and house-made aioli. Pastries include croissants, cinnamon rolls and cruffins, a hybrid of croissants and muffins filled with fruit cream.
Sour & Dough Artisan Bakery has opened at 893 Vanderbilt Beach Road, Unit 58, in The Pavilion shopping center in North Naples. The family-owned bakery also operates a location in University Village near Florida Gulf Coast University.
Because the new bakery is in its soft-opening phase, its operating hours are still tentative from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. daily, Itzcovich said. Sour & Dough’s 1,190 square feet space at 893 Vanderbilt Beach Road, Unit 58, has covered seating available indoors and outdoors.
