Florida consumer confidence increased for the second consecutive month in October, climbing 0.7 points to 69.1, according to a University of Florida survey. Despite the improvement, Floridians remain concerned about household finances as inflation and borrowing costs stay elevated. Assessments of personal financial conditions declined for the seventh consecutive month, while expectations for the U.S. economy over the next five years rose 2.7 points to 73.8. Views on whether it is a good time to purchase major household items also declined, raising concerns about consumer spending ahead of the holiday shopping season. The survey included 970 Florida residents.
