Florida drivers are paying less at the pump as gas prices continue to decline. According to AAA, the state average for regular unleaded fell to $2.95 per gallon Sept. 14, the 10th consecutive day of decreases. That price is 15 cents less than a week ago, 18 cents less than a month ago and 18 cents lower than this time last year. Analysts credit lower seasonal demand and the transition to cheaper winter-blend gasoline for the relief. While fall typically brings declining prices, AAA cautioned that Gulf Coast refinery disruptions during hurricane season could still push costs higher. In Southwest Florida on Sept. 15, Charlotte County had the lowest average gas price at $2.85 per gallon, followed by Lee County ($2.99) and Collier County ($3.05).
