Florida mortgage interest rates edged higher in the second quarter, but the increase was smaller than in most states, according to a WalletHub analysis. The state’s average mortgage rate reached 6.20%, up 0.1% from the first quarter of 2026. Florida ranked 35th among states for the size of the increase. Mortgage rates rose in 37 states between the first and second quarters, according to WalletHub’s proprietary user data. Mississippi recorded the largest increase at 1.92%, followed by Colorado at 1.60% and Tennessee at 1.57%. WalletHub analysts said mortgage rates remain well above the historic lows reached during the COVID-19 pandemic.
