Silver Sands hotel proposal advances on beach

A rendering shows the proposed Silver Sands Resort at 1207 Estero Blvd. on Fort Myers Beach. The six-story, 60-unit hotel received a unanimous recommendation for approval from the Fort Myers Beach Local Planning Agency and now moves to the Town Council for consideration.

The Fort Myers Beach Local Planning Agency unanimously recommended approval of a proposed 60-unit Silver Sands Resort hotel at 1207 Estero Blvd., the former site of the Silver Sands cottages destroyed by Hurricane Ian. The six-story project, planned by TPI-FMB Suites LLC, an affiliate of the developers behind Margaritaville Beach Resort, would include all-suite accommodations ranging from 600 to 900 square feet, ground-floor retail space and 46 parking spaces. Guests would have access to Margaritaville amenities across the street, including pools, restaurants and wellness facilities. The proposal requires 11 deviations from the town's Land Development Code and still must receive approval from the Fort Myers Beach Town Council.
