Healthcare Network received a $20,500 grant from the Christ Child Society of Naples to expand its Book Nook literacy initiative at pediatric practices in Golden Gate and Immokalee. The funding will provide additional books for children to read while waiting for medical appointments. The nonprofit previously established Book Nooks at four pediatric locations with support from the Christ Child Society. Healthcare Network, Collier County’s only federally qualified health center, provides medical services to more than 56,000 adults and children annually. The organization says more than half of Collier County’s children receive care through its facilities.
