Lee Health acquires Gardner Orthopedics practice in Fort Myers

Lee Health has acquired Gardner Orthopedics, expanding access to orthopedic and musculoskeletal care across Southwest Florida.

The acquisition adds all 75 Gardner Orthopedics employees, including five physicians, along with nurses, physical therapists, medical assistants and administrative staff, to the Lee Health system. Gardner Orthopedics’ Winkler Avenue office will remain open, strengthening Lee Health’s outpatient network while preserving continuity of care for existing patients.

The practice is known for offering same-day appointments for injuries, joint pain, sports-related conditions and other musculoskeletal issues.

Lee Health officials said the acquisition enhances its growing musculoskeletal service line, which includes orthopedic surgeons, podiatrists and rehabilitation specialists, while supporting the health system’s strategy to expand specialty care access as Southwest Florida’s population continues to grow.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
