School District of Lee County filled or resolved all 575 instructional vacancies identified last April, marking a major milestone in its recruitment efforts. The positions were benchmarked April 24, 2025, and addressed through Project Believe, a districtwide initiative that partnered human resources staff with school leadership. As of Jan. 23, the district closed all vacancies from that cohort. Officials said rolling openings remain as staff retire or relocate, but only 27 instructional positions are currently unfilled, an 85% improvement from the 190 vacancies reported a year ago. District leaders said recruitment and retention remain top priorities.
