Naples Comprehensive Health appointed Dr. Javier Muñoz as medical director of its cancer program and a practicing medical oncologist as the health system expands oncology services through its collaboration with Northwestern Medicine. Muñoz joins NCH from Mayo Clinic in Phoenix, where he led the lymphoma program and held leadership roles in clinical trials and cellular therapy. An academic hematologist-oncologist with more than two decades of experience, he has authored more than 100 peer-reviewed publications and helped lead clinical trials that shaped modern cancer treatments. NCH officials said Muñoz will oversee the development of an integrated cancer service line, expand access to clinical trials and help advance plans for a comprehensive cancer center serving Southwest Florida.
