Oakes Farms has withdrawn plans for Oakes Landing, a proposed entertainment destination in Bonita Springs that would have included live music, restaurants, bars, pools and family recreation areas on the former greyhound track property.
Oakes Farms withdrew its proposal to redevelop the former Bonita Springs greyhound track into an entertainment complex known as Oakes Landing. City officials said a request to withdraw the application was submitted June 15 before the project advanced to zoning or City Council review. The proposal called for a destination venue featuring live music, restaurants, bars, pools, family recreation areas, playgrounds, game spaces, private cabanas and parking for more than 400 vehicles on about 12 acres near Bonita Beach Road and Old 41. Oakes Farms has not publicly disclosed a reason for withdrawing the application, WINK News reports.
