The Greater Fort Myers Chamber of Commerce’s Women in Business Committee will hold its fourth annual Purses for a Purpose fundraiser Oct. 7 at Congress Jewelers, 2075 Periwinkle Way on Sanibel. The event, scheduled from 4 to 6 p.m., features a silent auction of designer and luxury purses, wallets, backpacks and other items. Proceeds benefit the Women in Business Scholarship Fund, which supports nontraditional students at Florida SouthWestern State College and Florida Gulf Coast University. The chamber is accepting donated auction items valued at $100 or more through Oct. 2. Advance admission is $15 for chamber members and $25 for nonmembers. To register, click here.
