Skanska signed an additional $60 million contract with Lee Health for its new hospital campus under construction in Fort Myers. The amendment covers interior finishes and mechanical, electrical and plumbing work associated with expansion of the hospital’s west bed tower. The 53-acre Lee Health Fort Myers campus is under construction near Colonial and Challenger boulevards and will include a hospital, central energy plant and 125,000-square-foot medical office building with an ambulatory surgery center. Lee Health officials said the hospital is planned to open with 260 private patient rooms. Construction began in June 2024 and is scheduled for completion in May 2028.
