St. Matthew’s House receives $50,000 grant

Representatives from St. Matthew’s House and the Women’s Foundation of Collier County gather after the foundation presented a $50,000 grant to support shelter and services for homeless senior women in Collier County.

St. Matthew’s House has received a $50,000 grant from the Women’s Foundation of Collier County to expand shelter and support services for homeless senior women in Collier County. The funding will help the nonprofit provide emergency shelter, meals, clothing, transportation and case management through its Campbell Lodge, along with connections to medical care, mental health services, employment resources and housing assistance. The grant comes as the organization reports an increasing number of older women experiencing homelessness for the first time because of rising housing costs and limited incomes.
