Naples-based Tamiami Angel Funds has invested $660,000 in Coral Springs defense technology company Zulu Pods, marking the fund's 15th portfolio investment. Zulu Pods develops fluid-delivery systems used in military missiles, drones and rotor aircraft, including technology that supplies oil to expendable jet engines and emergency backup systems for military helicopters. The funding will help the company complete testing certifications and expand manufacturing capacity. Tamiami Angel Funds invests in early- and expansion-stage companies, with a preference for Florida-based businesses. Fund officials said the investment reflects growing demand for defense technologies as unmanned aircraft and artificial intelligence reshape military operations. Zulu Pods was founded by former Pratt & Whitney engineer Rob Sladen.
