Whataburger will open its second Southwest Florida restaurant Oct. 22 at 22927 Lyden Drive, in the former Pollo Tropical building off U.S. 41 near Coconut Point in Estero. The restaurant will begin serving customers at 11 a.m., following a 10:30 a.m. opening ceremony. Regular hours will be 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. daily, with dine-in and drive-thru service. Unlike the chain's first regional location, the Estero restaurant will not operate 24 hours. Whataburger debuted in Southwest Florida on Sept. 10 at 12916 S. Cleveland Ave. in south Fort Myers, replacing a former Aussie Grill. The San Antonio-based burger chain operates more than 1,200 restaurants nationwide.
