Cape Coral’s inaugural Professional Pickleball Association event March 5-9 set a new benchmark for first-time PPA venues with more than 4,400 spectators, 30% more than any previous debut event, city officials said. The Veolia Cape Coral Open also generated approximately $70,000 in concession revenue. Lake Kennedy Racquet Center opened Aug. 28, 2024, and features 32 pickleball courts and 12 tennis courts. The city-owned outdoor facility is located at 420 SW Second Ave. It hosted the United Pickleball State Championship Series in late August.
