Southwest Florida is quickly growing, causing a high demand for jobs. However, while there are plenty of businesses hiring this season, many are not staying at their jobs. Instead, they are changing careers or moving from job to job with the hope of earning a position with higher pay. Amir Neto, an assistant professor of economics at the Florida Gulf Coast University, studies the populations living in the region who participate in the labor market. He says while more people are applying or looking for jobs, it’s not a significant amount when comparing it to the state and nationwide employment numbers, WINK News reports.
