HCA Florida Fawcett Hospital is nearing completion of Phase 1 in its $60 million expansion and renovation project that will increase the Port Charlotte hospital’s capacity and broaden its offerings. Opening in May at 21298 Olean Blvd., the project includes expanding critical care capacity by 12 patient rooms to 31 total, increasing the number of pre-operative treatment areas from 14 to 43 bays, renovating the main lobby, waiting rooms and registration areas and adding a chapel and coffee shop. Los Dos Christianos Coffee will occupy the coffee shop. The entire project includes 40,000 square feet of new space and 20,000 square feet of renovated space. Phase 2 will include expansion to the hospital’s operating room capacity from 10 to 12 suites and is scheduled to be complete by the end of 2024.
