The Fort Myers Community Redevelopment Agency approved a commercial property improvement matching grant in the not-to-exceed amount of $50,000 for Onyx House LLC at 1853 Victoria Ave., in the Altamont Manor neighborhood. Onyx House LLC, owned by Nick Bejelis, will operate a hair salon on the property and use the funds for window replacements, installing pavers for the parking area, replacing old, damaged decking, full exterior painting, installing new awnings, repairs to exterior siding and landscaping. The CRA Commercial Property Improvement Grant Program is a matching grant for commercial property owners and businesses within Fort Myers redevelopment areas. The maximum potential grant available for a project in Tier I is 75% of the total eligible expenditure, with a maximum award of $50,000.
