After being severely damaged by Hurricane Ian’s storm surge last fall, Bonefish Grill is not reopening at Naples Bay Resort & Marina.

Until permanently closed by the Hurricane last September, Bonefish Grill had operated at 1500 Fifth Ave. S. since May 2008. Although it previously had planned to rebuild its Naples location, Bonefish Grill’s parent company, Tampa-based Bloomin’ Brands, announced Wednesday that it no longer plans to reopen its waterfront restaurant and bar that launched 15 years ago in Naples.

“With the many challenges of rebuilding since Hurricane Ian, our lease has ended at our Naples location,” reads an emailed note to “valued guests” forwarded by Bloomin’ Brands Director of Media & Community Relations Elizabeth Daly. “Due to many rebuilding obstacles, including very limited parking, we felt we would not be able to serve and accommodate our guests as we have in the past. We have enjoyed serving our Naples friends and neighbors the past 15 years and are exploring other options for a restaurant in the Naples community.  In the meantime, we hope you’ll visit us at our Bonefish Grill in Bonita Springs.”
