The Rooster Food + Drink in Naples will be on Guy Fieri’s “Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives” Food Network TV show at 9 p.m. Jan. 24.
Although the episode with the local breakfast-lunch restaurant was taped in November, The Rooster chef-owner Bryan “Bubba” Sutton wasn’t allowed to talk about it until now. Known for many years in Naples for his almond crunchy grouper, Sutton still isn’t permitted to say yet what he prepared from scratch for Fieri, but the celebrity chef loved The Rooster’s food.
“He said he didn’t realize the food would be this good in Naples, Florida,” Chef Sutton said. “He was blown away.”
Sutton said it was an amazing experience to meet Fieri and appear on “Triple D,” as the show is often nicknamed. He couldn’t believe it when Fieri’s trademark 1968 red Camaro convertible parked outside his restaurant.
“It was one of the highlights of my life to hang out with him,” Sutton said. “I never expected any of this.” The Rooster, 600 Goodlette-Frank Road N., suite 101, is open 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily.
