During a news conference Monday at the Venice headquarters for Tervis, a retailer of plastic drinkware, Gov. Ron DeSantis touted Florida’s high job growth and low unemployment numbers. Of the 195,000 jobs created nationwide in September, 88,000 of them were created in Florida alone, DeSantis said. “The secret is out about this part of the state of Florida,” he said about the Gulf Coast. “So, we’re going to continue to make sure that Florida is open, free and built for opportunity.” DeSantis reiterated that Florida’s ports are open for business to encourage more shipments to enter the state, avoiding busier Pacific ports and supply chain bottlenecks, WINK News reports.
