Governor OKs Miami-Dade and Broward to start Florida’s Phase 1 reopening plan

Two weeks after the rest of Florida, Miami-Dade and Broward counties may begin partial reopening Monday with Phase 1 of the state’s plan, Gov. Ron DeSantis said Thursday upon signing an executive order. The east coast of South Florida was the hardest hit by the pandemic, but the governor said it makes sense to reopen the counties based on the progress residents have made in fighting COVID-19.
